How Many Days Should you Spend in Xian?

Xi'an Safety Tips
Like the other cities in China, Xi'an is generally a safe place to visit. Just be careful about your belongings in crowds. Pickpockets are more common during holidays when you are on public transportation and some of the crowded resorts; there are also people asking for money and beggars.

How to Get to Xian
Xi'an, once the starting point of the Silk Route and now a major transportation hub in China, boasts a convenient network of air, high-speed rail and road transportation. Therefore you can easily reach the city from major cities in China and even abroad.
By air
Daily flights to Xi'an are available from major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Kunming, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chongqing. Direct flights to Xi'an are also available from international cities such as Hong Kong, Macau, and Taipei, as well as Asian cities including Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore, and Bangkok. Additionally, seasonal routes connect Xi'an to select European cities.
Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (XIY) is the largest airport in Northwest China. It is approximately 47 kilometers away from the city center and the driving time is about 1 hour. You can take the Airport Bus Line 1 (about CNY 25 yuan) to reach the Xian Bell Tower and the Xian railway station; or take Line 2 (about CNY 25 yuan) to reach Xi'an North Railway Station. Alternatively, you can take Metro Line 14 to reach Xi'an North Railway Station (you can transfer to Metro Line 2 to reach the city center midway). If you prefer a taxi, it will cost about CNY 150-200 yuan.
By High Speed Train
Several major China high-speed railway lines, such as the Beijing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, the Zhengzhou-Xi'an High-Speed Railway, and the Baotou-Xi'an High-Speed Railway, connect Xi'an with major cities across the country (including some cities along the Silk Road). You can take the high-speed train to Xi'an North Railway Station or Xi'an Railway Station from Beijing (4.5 - 6 hours), Shanghai (6 - 7 hours), Chengdu (3 - 4 hours), Chongqing (5 hours), Luoyang (1.5 hours), and Lanzhou (3.5 hours) .
From Xi'an North Railway Station, you can take Subway Line 2 or Line 4 to directly reach tourist attractions like the Bell Tower and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an.
From Xi'an Railway Station, which is located in the city center, you can walk for 10 minutes to reach the Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter. And it is close to Subway Line 4.
